The Historical Untersberg: 3 colour etchings

The Legend of Emperor Charlemagne

Sleeping in the Mountain: The emperor sits at a large
table inside the Untersberg and sleeps. His beard
grows around the table.

The Awakening: Every hundred years, the emperor
wakes up and asks whether the ravens are still circling
the mountain.

The Significance of the Ravens: As long as the ravens
continue to circle, he sleeps on for another century.

The End of the World: If the ravens stop flying or if his
beard has grown three times around the table, he
awakens for good and the world changes.
